Overview Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Columbia, SC. AbbVie is seeking a field-based Specialty Representative for the Gastroenterology portfolio. This geography covers Columbia, Florence, Charleston, Savannah, and surrounding areas. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. This role is field-based and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. For more information, visit Job Description Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage sales performance, and maximize short and long-term sales within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws. Build strong customer relationships and use needs-based problem solving to place the patient at the center of efforts. Responsibilities Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets. Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and post-call evaluations; handle objections and close calls effectively. Proactively address customer needs to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements. Develop and execute a call plan that optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities. Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, disease states, products, and sales trends with in-field teams and the brand plan to optimize strategy. Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and establish disease-state experts and speakers as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience; relevant experience required if no degree. Five or more years of experience in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry is preferred; strong selling and presentation skills are required. Ability to adapt selling approaches to customer styles; innovative thinking to maximize opportunities; credible, collaborative, and capable of coaching others in changing environments. Proven leadership and the ability to take on increased responsibility within district, region, or organization; experience developing sales strategies. Preferred: Experience in sales within therapeutic areas; knowledge of physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing; English language proficiency. HCIR credentialing requirements to gain access to facilities; ability to pass background checks and complete immunization proofs as required. Strong scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; able to work effectively in a matrix environment; valid driver’s license with ability to pass a drug screen. Other Requirements In-field stakeholders: Specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and others depending on brand plan. Internal stakeholders: In-field team members, Sales Management, Marketing, Training, and Brand Plan stakeholders.
