Job Description

A law firm in Palo Alto, CA, is seeking a skilled and motivated Medtech Patent Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will be key in conducting prior art database searches, preparing and prosecuting patent applications, offering patent prosecution counseling, providing due diligence support, and assisting with litigation support.

• Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses.
• Prepare and prosecute patent applications.
• Provide patent prosecution counseling.
• Assist in litigation support related to medtech patent issues.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of substantive patent prosecution experience.
• An undergraduate or graduate degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, or bioelectrical engineering.
• USPTO registration is required.

Skills:

• Superb technical, written, and verbal communication skills in English.
• Initiative, fast learner, and ability to work well with others.

Education:

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, or bioelectrical engineering.

Certifications:

• USPTO registration.
