Accountant (Forensics) Job Opening

This position advertised has been exempted from the federal civilian hiring freeze. Open to all U.S. citizens. The position is for an Accountant (Forensics), GS 11/12/13, within the Counterterrorism Division (CTD) located in McLean, VA or the Counterintelligence Division (CD) located in Washington, D.C. The work hours are 8:15 am-5:00 PM, and the salary ranges from $84,601.00 to $156,755.00 depending on the grade level. Multiple positions are available for full-time/permanent employment.

Key requirements include being a U.S. citizen, obtaining a Top Secret-SCI clearance, completing the FD-887, and some travel may be required. Applicants must verify completion of the basic education requirement by submitting a copy of college transcripts by the closing date. Selectees will also be required to attend a mandatory five-week Forensic Accountant Core Training Session (FACTS) held at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Physical demands include work that is primarily sedentary with some physical effort required. The work environment must be able to handle stressful conditions.

The mission of the FBI is to protect the American People and uphold the Constitution of the United States. Major duties include providing knowledge with respect to accounting and financial practices, conducting forensic analysis of financial data, and developing forensic accounting techniques. GS 13 duties include serving as an expert forensic accountant, handling complex financial investigations, and mentoring inexperienced Forensic Accountants.
