This firm is seeking an in-house Senior Environmental Permitter to manage and execute permitting strategies for complex energy infrastructure projects, with a focus on Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) processes. This role involves close coordination with regulatory agencies, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and compliant project delivery.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
- Lead environmental permitting efforts for FERC-regulated projects (e.g., natural gas pipelines, LNG facilities, hydroelectric projects).
- Prepare and manage FERC filings, including Resource Reports and Environmental Reports.
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies to secure necessary environmental approvals.
- Oversee environmental impact assessments, NEPA documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Provide strategic guidance on permitting risks, timelines, and mitigation strategies.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to business development efforts.
🎓 Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in environmental permitting, with direct experience supporting FERC-regulated projects.
- In-depth knowledge of NEPA, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and other relevant environmental regulations.
- Strong technical writing, project management, and client communication skills.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams and managing complex project schedules.
- Ability to travel to project sites and public meetings as needed.
