Job Title: Bookkeeper

Reports To: Accounting Manager
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Bookkeeper with 2-4 years of experience in commercial construction to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day accounting functions. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Process and track job costing, including material, labor, and overhead expenses.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate invoicing for projects and subcontractors.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Track and manage construction project budgets and forecasts.
- Work closely with project managers and other teams to ensure accurate billing and cost reporting.
- Process payroll for employees and subcontractors, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Handle collections for overdue accounts and manage vendor relationships.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Support audits and ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Assist in preparing tax filings, including sales tax and payroll tax.
Required Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, ideally within the construction industry.
- Knowledge of job costing and construction-specific accounting practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, RedTeams, ADP, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite programs.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of payroll processing and taxes is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., RedTeams, Quickbooks Online, ADP).
- Familiarity with the construction industrys financial regulations and best practices.
- Experience with lien waivers, contract management, and construction bonds.
Working Conditions:
